| NubiaNet has an interesting history. It developed initially as
a collaboration between a parent (Ron Bailey) and a public school
teacher (Marcia Baynes) who taught Bailey's daughter Malika in 6th
grade. Their goal was to develop an outreach effort that could develop
curriculum resources and inform community residents about Nubia, the
focus of a permanent gallery that was being opened in Boston Museum
of Fine Arts in 1994.
As a result of that effort, many activities have been completed.
Scholars, teachers, students, and community residents have participated
in our activities and have played key roles in bringing knowledge
about Nubia to classroom and community settings. The following links
will share some of the highlights of our Nubia work.
